Auger Torque’s UK branch awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade for 2013

After a very successful showing at bauma 2013 things just keep getting better & better for Auger Torque. We are proud to announce that our United Kingdom branch Auger Torque Europe Limited has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade for 2013.

The internationally-recognised award is given to a small number of companies by Her Majesty the Queen each year. Winners have to demonstrate outstanding achievements in international trade over a sustained period, so with Auger Torque’s export sales growing by 135% over the last 3 years we found ourselves in a very strong position to be recognised.

Company owners, Alister and Wendy Rayner admitted that the UK business model, which has seen phenomenal growth, even in times of a world recession, has been so successful it is now being replicated in the 5 other facilities around the globe.

We are continuing with our inward investment with the launch of several innovative new products for 2013, all developed at our R&D facility in the UK. Recent additions to the range include a Cold Planer, Tree Stump Planer and a Sweeper Broom. All attracted a great deal of interest at our two storey exhibition stand at Bauma 2013, in Munich this April, when a record 530,000+ people visited the 7 day event.

Auger Torque products are built using the highest quality materials and their reliability is renowned around the globe; by nature, they are often used in the most extreme environments from the hottest of deserts to the frozen Antarctic and can expect an arduous life. Throughout 2012, the British Antarctic Survey used their Auger Torque Earth Drill, with a 100% success rate, in what is considered to be the most important geological survey of the sub-continent in decades, often operating in temperatures below -40 degrees Celsius.

With the new range of products, the prestigious award and a full order book, the company continues to fly the flag high for British manufacturing.

Stay tuned for the follow up report after we collect the award from Buckingham Palace in July.
