Atlas GmbH sells its Schaeff Transverse Cutter business to Kinshofer

Ganderkesee, Germany and Waakirchen, Germany, April 25th 2018. Atlas GmbH from Ganderkesee, Germany sells its Schaeff Transverse Cutter business to Kinshofer GmbH based in Waakirchen, Germany.

As a strategic measure Atlas has decided to put more focus on its core business, excavators and cranes in times of increasing momentum. Therefor the decision was made to divest its well-established and renowned transverse cutter business. Schaeff Atlas’ transverse cutters are still known as the foundation of these kinds of products. The broad range of transverse cutters and the reliable performance of each model are very much appreciated by Atlas’ customers in mining, construction, landscaping, tunnelling and in particular demolition. Therefore it was paramount for Atlas to find a competent manufacturer that is capable to deliver on the promise of high quality, performance and further product range development.

This manufacturer was found in Kinshofer. Kinshofer is known as a leading manufacturer to all these industries with innovative products its customers benefit from. The transverse cutters close a gap in Kinshofer broad range of demolition tools, i.e. the Demarec MQP and DRG range or Kinshofer’s HPXdrive grapple range. But also other product segments such as landscaping and construction will benefit from this addition. In fact these three product segments account for the largest portion of Kinshofer’s wide product portfolio.

It is Kinshofer’s intention to roll out this new product line globally under its well-known KINSHOFER brand and sell and support it by its own subsidiaries or regional partner distributors.

Kinshofer will also service units sold by Atlas with technical support as well as spare and wear parts which are now available through the Kinshofer network.
